The Couch @ Melbourne – Centre for International Students
A place you can go to socialize, meet new friends, participate in events, access the internet free and even have some dinner for free. Drop in there and have a look at what’s happening. They will include you in their mailing list and send an email update every month on the calendar of events.

Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome (LMSW)
This is held twice in a year. It is and information and fun day organized by the City of Melbourne to welcome international Students. Check out the City of Melbourne site to know when the next event is scheduled for.
Studying Working & Chill’n – International Student Information Day
This is event is also held twice a year. This full day event provides useful information of adjusting to your student life here in Melbourne. You get to meet representatives from all the relevant organizations that can provide you with reliable information. All this, along with a free meal and entertainment. Check out Australian Federation of International Students (AFIS) website www.internationalstudents.org,au for updates on when the next event would be held. There are many events organised by AFIS for international students so look out for updates on the website or find them in Facebook.
Globall Program
An Initiative by the Essendon Football Club & Cricket Victoria, GLoBALL enables international students and new migrants to interact with the broader Victorian community through free tickets to footy and cricket games!

Culture Card Victoria
Culture Card Victoria provides a great way for international students, who are enrolled at post-secondary school institutions, to enjoy what is on offer in Victoria through a great mix of special offers at sports, arts, and many other events in our community. Ask for your Culture Card at ALTEC Reception and register on line with your student Id number. Then you will be getting email updates on all the activities.
